Washington, DC – Dave Lewis, President of Milwaukie, OR-based Consonus Healthcare has been tapped to serve as the new Secretary for the Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition (SCPC), the Washington D.C.-based advocacy organization announced today. SCPC, founded in 2014, is the only Washington-based organization exclusively representing the interests of independent long-term care (LTC) pharmacies and the patients they serve.

Joining Lewis to lead the SCPC Executive Committee will be the new Chairman Fred Burke, a Co-Founder of SCPC  and Co-founder and President/CEO of Guardian Pharmacy Services. Burke and Lewis will also serve with Robert Warnock, Senior VP of Pharmacy Services at PruittHealth Inc. as Vice Chair and Jeff Stamps, Chief Executive Officer of Remedi SeniorCare Pharmacy as Treasurer.

“Since our founding in 2014, we’ve counted on leaders, like Dave Lewis, to help SCPC quickly become an effective, trusted, research-oriented advocacy voice in Washington for LTC pharmacies and the vulnerable patients we serve,” said Alan G. Rosenbloom, President and CEO of SCPC.  “Dave’s energy and passion for LTC pharmacies will be an outstanding asset as we continue to advocate on behalf of the LTC community” Rosenbloom continued.

“I’m honored to serve in this role with the SCPC, and help to formulate federal legislation and weigh-in on regulatory issues important to LTC pharmacies and our patients. Our accomplishment and growing role as leaders in this policy space is a testament that our bipartisan approach to policy and problem-solving works,” Lewis said. “Our ongoing focus defining PBM abuses, helping Congress control opioid abuse, and working towards establishing a federal definition of LTC pharmacy is vitally important to our members, our patients and the broader long-term care and assisted living communities.”

Lewis has served as President of Consonus Healthcare since 2000, with direct oversight of the pharmacy division. Under his leadership, the company now provides pharmacy services to more than 300 long-term care facilities in four states and fills almost 180,000 prescriptions per month.
